The Fire Extinguisher In Your MRI Suite: It could be that the worst thing about FE-36, the new fire extinguishing agent from DuPont, is an unfortunate coincidence in acronyms. For those charged with MR facility safety, any object with iron (chemical abbreviation, Fe) is to be strictly avoided. Your Feedback: We have been thrilled by the feedback we've received from last month's feature on Magnetic Contamination! Several of you were shocked, some of you with many years in MRI, that this could happen and that nobody has warned facilities before. Additionally, the story has captured the interest of several others. Diagnostic Imaging magazine and the SCAN newsletter may be printing related pieces in the next month or two, and we have granted digital reprint rights to AuntMinnie.com, among others, for the feature. Our responsibility to you, our reader, is to bring you the news on MRI facility planning and safety that simply isn't available from any other source. This information wil enable you to obtain better images, provide better patient care, create safer environments for patients and staff, and improve the financial performance of your facility. We also strive to provide you with ways you can make an immediate impact as well as long-term tools to improve your facility. |

More information on our presentation at AHRA, co-sponsored by Mednovus and Magmedix, can be found by following the link below...
